Also a TV film opera version from 1960. I used my vinyl copy on so many college mixtapes, starting from the bit of aria before the synth explosion at Act I Scene 3: Mimaband 1 as it fades into sound collage and white noise. I queued the playback point in the clip below, sorry no captioning available. Besides the 3 Body books, this is my favorite HardSci by far. Trigger warning: the events of the poem, film, and opera delve deep into themes of hopelessness.
