It’s a familiar sight in an unfamiliar place, glimpsed between unfamiliar figures on an unfamiliar girl — perhaps it was merely a tattoo, a trend among the living, something he usually would not confront. Yet there was something supernatural about this girl, and, in a place like this, finding evidence his own world still existed was all he wanted.
“H-hey, excuse me!” He pushes a little through the crowd, apologising to those brushed aside in his wake, stopping before the girl with what is surely a ‘name’ written on her arm — face slightly flushed with hope, chest rising and falling quickly with excitement. “That... you’re not a shinki, are you?” Maybe he just wanted to see another being like himself.
