Sorry if this is a weird question, but I was reading October and I wondered: Would it be any different whether Tom/Lily had a son instead of a daughter? I imagine it would probably lead to some sort of unresolved issues but I wanted to know your thoughts!
Anon's referring to October, a story where a lot of things happen including Tom Riddle and Lily Evans getting married and having a child. It's a story.

Not really.
Tom might be a little more prepared for Harry's rebellious stint that she's currently embroiled in as he'd recognize that as something he would do (rebel against authority is Tom's other middle name).
But I imagine Harry the son would still live through the same events with the same general character arc including the preteen moodiness that's caught up with us in current chapters.
The difference would be in Tom's reactions where here he went "Where did my sweet daughter go?" and in this other universe he'd probably be more exasperated and less generally surprised.
