Draco Malfoy never thought he could hate Harry Potter more than he could, but watching him hold your hand and wrap his arm around your waist pushed him over the edge, when news got around that Harry and you had gotten together it didn't take long for Goyle to run to his friend and tell him all about it but instead of snickering and coming up with things to say to them when they walk past instead Draco's heart broke although he didn't show it.
He let his friends joke about it in front of him, as he sat there and just looked at his hands, he had really messed everything up. He thought that moment meant as much to you as it did to him. He opened up to you and this is what he gets in return.
You leaned on the railing on the astronomy tower as you gazed at the night sky, it was close to midnight which means if you got caught then your prefect would not be the happiest with you but you couldn't stop yourself from coming up here every now and then. You quickly turned around when you heard the floor creak behind you.
Your whole mood deflated as you recognized who it was immediately, Draco Malfoy, the bane of your best friends existence. Everything Harry did, Draco had to make a sly comment about it for a reason that you didn't want to know or care about. But you waiting for Draco to erupt at you and tell you how he'd expect nothing less from a mudblood or something along the lines but he didn't instead he slowly made his way beside you before doing exactly what you were doing not even twenty seconds ago.
"I didn't realize anyone came here besides me" He spoke softly, like if he spoke any longer he'd scare you away. Very different than the Draco you had seen your entire school life.
"I don't come up here often, just when I need to get away from everything. I can leave if you want me to" You didn't know why but you hoped he let you stay, knowing if you left he'd go back to insulting you and your friends.
"You can stay, I just wanted to see the stars."
You smiled lightly, taking a step towards him before mirroring his actions from earlier leaning on the railing. "Draco Malfoy wanted to see the stars? Seems a little to wholesome for someone like you"
"Well maybe you don't know me as well as you think you do." He snuck a glance at you, before quickly adverting his eyes back to the sky. This comment made you roll your eyes.
"How could I know the type of person you actually are, all you show me is this bratty rich boy that thinks he's better than everyone else" You didn't mean to snap but you couldn't help it, he had put you through hell just to stand here and try and say you didn't know him. You knew Draco Malfoy like the back of your hand, he was a prick.
"You're right. I'm sorry for anything that I've said to you that has ever hurt you, i know that it doesn't seem that way but my intentions were to never hurt you. I just didn't see any other way to get your attention"
"How about treating me like an actual human being not the ground you walk on." When you looked up at the Malfoy boy, you realized he was a lot closer than you last remembered, you took a sharp intake of your breath before looking up at him slightly.
"I know, but I didn't want people to see me like that. Weak." He looked down at his feet, only for your hand to find its way into his.
"Caring for someone doesn't make you weak, Draco. It makes you a stronger and better person. You definitely would of caught my attention that way but this way works too I guess" You both chuckle at that before he looked up to meet your gaze
"Y/N, I didn't only hate Potter because he was the chosen one. I hated him because he had something that I could never have." His free hand moves up slowly, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear, you wanted to smack him away but the feeling of his fingers brushing against your cheek sent you into overdrive.
He tilted his head slightly, so he could connect his lips with yours but before he could, you hand lands on his chest halting his movements "What happens if someone catches us? I can't afford to lose house points right now"
"I don't think you have anything to worry about" He removes his hand from your cheek and pulls a card out of his pocket, showing that he was on hall duty tonight. It makes you laugh lightly before looking up at him. "But I might have to be persuaded on not taking house points"
You quickly connect your lips with his, catching him by surprise before he starts to move his lips against yours. It was perfect, everything that he had thought it would be but it's cut off as you pull your lips away "Persuaded?"
"Uh, yeah- yeah that's perfect" He quickly kissed you again as you giggled before returning the affection.
Now he stood in the hallways, watching as Harry and you walked together like you have been together for years and this new feelings over took his body as you connected your lips with Harry, just like you did to him a couple nights ago. He felt used.
