We’re proud to announce we recently became a sponsor of the @hawkertyphoonrb396 Hawker Typhoon Preservation Group (HTPG) as they aim to rebuild and return to flight the sole surviving combat veteran Hawker Typhoon MkIb (RB396). 👍 As part of our sponsorship we have created a special shoe design inspired by Typhoon RB396 with 15% of each sale going towards the aircraft rebuild. 👏 Out of the 3,316 built, only one complete Typhoon airframe and 4 partially complete airframes survive. This Typhoon will be the worlds only airworthy example. We’re proud to announce we recently became a sponsor of the @bombercommandmuseum in support of their ongoing restoration and maintenance of Lancaster FM159. 👍 As part of our sponsorship we have created a special shoe design inspired by the Lancaster FM159 with 15% of each sale going towards the aircraft restoration . 👏 Lancaster FM159 wears the livery of F2-T, a Lancaster flown by Canadian pilot Ian Bazalgette VC, DFC. Ian Bazalgette (25) flew Lancaster bombers with RAF 635SQN. On August 4th, 1944 whilst flying in the pathfinder role during a night mission to France, his aircraft was hit by flak prior to arrival at the target and severely damaged. Despite the fire and damage he continued to the target and successfully dropped his markers after which he told his crew to bail out. Unfortunately two of his crew were too injured to jump. Rather than leave the men to certain death, Bazalgette chose to stay with the aircraft and attempt to land the burning plane. Sadly, as the aircraft touched down it exploded almost immediately killing all three airmen.
