“Get it off your chest.” -Tommy
“Why does this feel like such a betrayal, Tommy?” Chuckie drops his head back on the couch and stares blankly at the ceiling. “I just, I guess I thought you and Phil were like brothers to Kimi. Maybe that’s on me for making the assumption but I always imagined you guys protecting her like I do. I know she doesn’t need it but it was a comfort, you know, knowing you guys would be there for her when I couldn’t.” Chuckie takes a swig of the spiked seltzer he’s holding and drops his head back down. He really needs to buy some other alcohol. No wait- he can’t handle much else. “This feels like a breach of that. What if someone gets hurt? Does the group just break up? Are they really ready to risk all of us for each other? I want them to be happy but-” He tries to think of an end to that thought but comes up short. Maybe he’s just being selfish. He could stop this right now and call up Phil and Kimi and support them. No. No, he can’t do that. The nausea building in his stomach makes that clear. “If you and Kimi wanted to get together I would know that your feelings have gotten strong enough that you’ve thought it through. I know you wouldn’t hurt her. But with Phil? Tommy, I can’t be sure of that.” Chuckie sighs and lifts his drink to hid mouth. “My meds aren’t strong enough for this.”
