because i absolutely will forget, to get tohutō on linux mint:

add "Maori" as a keyboard

(optionally, get pissy that they can't even spell the keyboard language right like come the fuck on)

switch to that keyboard (they show as nz1 (english) and nz2 (māori)

put māori at the top of the language list so it displays as nz1 (māori) and nz2 (english) in the panel next to the wifi/battery/time

hold down the RIGHT alt key and then press your fave vowel
