Profiling a Keeper- 5/12/2014
In recent years we have seen a significant increase in orphaned elephants coming into our care. This is due to both an escalation in poaching throughout the country and because of community sensitization; with many orphaned calf’s now rescued when in the past they would be killed or left to die. The Orphans Project is all made possible thanks to a dedicated team – Joseph Sauni, head Keeper from our Voi Rehabilitation Unit gives us some insight into his unusual job, along with its challenges and triumphs.
