The ordinary thought is that logic doesn't do well with emotion. That thought is wrong, for every single mistake, everything that has brought tears to someone's eye, has always been from an emotional outburst. It might not be in words, in fact it's often an overreaction and then silence. Humans get jealous, and when jealousy is combined with emotion even though jealousy is a form of emotion, huge and rash decisions are made that have caused relationships to tumble. When emotion presides over logic, possibilities are ignored. Usually it ends up with only the worst-case scenarios getting all the attraction. I find that using logic and thinking calmly has provided answers for bad words and sadness even after they've started.
