Rainy days finally got me to finishing my Chopper dress! I used #simplicity9040 (like my Olaf dress), with a modified hood pattern and mostly linens and cottons. Like my ball droid dresses; lots of planning, #heatnbond and appliqué was involved lol. And I even put a little surprise when the hood is up ~ I still have a few accessories to finish - a hair bow for his antenna and his little 3D printed hands to clip on the sleeves. So I went to @joann_stores to buy some #HeatNBond #UltraHold, but they told me it had been discontinued (at least in bolts) and recommended heavy duty #WonderUnder instead. This stuff is UTTER TRASH. It won't fuse to material, won't come off the paper, and stretches and tears easily. Throwback to #asunayuuki from #swordartonline. You can add beautiful details to cosplay by using textured fabric for applique. I use #heatnbond to secure my pieces before I satin stitch and I interface the base fabric with light fusible interfacing to prevent any warping. This piece had some crazy curves so I took it slow to make sure I was covering the entire edge.
