Exploring a bigger format that the one that I’m used to, and also coming back to charcoal, which I neglected for almost two years now after a heavy academic training using it, I am finding now that is a very fun and dynamic medium if used more freely without the restraints of being completely accurate and of completely render a drawing. Also, the beautiful image from which this drawing is based upon came perfectly as an inspiration and as a way of calming things down in my mind, a moment of reaching towards one self and smiling, being grateful for the amazing journey life is, the great gift of having a body and mind to experience this great adventure, something that can be easily forgotten with the fast pace of modern life. Here is to love now, breathe now and be patient and constant, for better and greater things to come, even if now you are stuck in a dark place.
