Lexi I can not get the hellfire cult AU out of my head all I can think of is Steve being like a Trojan horse for the rest of the party to join the cult like they are trying to find a place for them all and Steve is good at getting a read for the vibe and so Steve gets in and is mated then starts telling Eddie about some other candidates that would be good additions to the cult. The Byers whose gov. not only faked Will's death but also knew what actually happened to him and did nothing to help until Joyce put up enough of a stink. The Hoppers with El who was experimented on by the gov. and Jim, who has suffered trying to keep her from going back to Brenner. The Sinclairs who the gov. do not protect as equally as their white citezens. Henderson bullied for his disorder that he has no control over. Nancy and her siblings seeking refuge from an uncaring father and over controlling mother. Max who's escaping her abusive step father and oblivious mom. And finally Robin who is a lesbian and Steve's platonic soulmate. They all become great assets to the cult, especially well bred and educated in politics Steve paired with his youngest cut throat child Erica. Od also just assume Muarry is already involved with the cult in some way shape or form. I'm sorry this was so long, but I needed someone to see this. I love your writing!!!
This is amazing! Yes to all of it. Steve would bring a whole new sect of the cult along with him, especially because Robin is the one who pointed him in Eddie’s direction in the first place.
She’d heard about Hellfire’s plans on the news and found the whole thing fascinating, telling Steve that maybe he could go there to have a baby away from his parents since Eddie is against societal pressure and control. Steve took to the idea right away and thanked her for the help, believing it his best chance to be free.
Robin may not have foresaw her platonic soulmate going and getting himself mated and knocked up by aforementioned cult leader, but she’s happy for them just the same! If there’s a place for her in Eddie’s hierarchy too, then that’s even better for all of them anyway💛
