Comments: It would have been incredibly funny if this first, singular hatchling from their very first clutch had turned out to be the 5th generation naturally primal-eyed tree dragon for my line of such, but no. She's just a nicely autumnal dragon.

And so the slapping them back on a nest the moment they're RTB again begins...

(Just don't take 54 clutches like Hellebore himself did is all I'm asking. Preferably a number considerably less than that, and absolutely not a higher one.)

Finally hatched out my 4th generation naturally primal-eyed tree dragon (Hellebore), gened him up, found him a mate, waited out the most-of-a-month for them to lay their first clutch...

...and of course they laid one. single. solitary. egg.

Granted I will laugh myself sick if that egg manages to come out as the 5th generation primal, the chance of that is very low. I'm just hoping it doesn't take nearly as many clutches for them to produce the 5th as it did for his parents to have him (54 clutches over a 4 year period). Something more like the counts prior to that (10 clutches for 3rd, 2 clutches for 2nd, and also 2 clutches for 1st!) would be much appreciated.

For an unplanned project I've now sunk a lot of time into this line of dragons, and it's pretty much entirely due to Hellebore being such a laggard in arriving.

Potential hatchlings from Heucherella and Hellebore. Offspring should be a fairly even mix of both parents' genetics (wicker-paisley-blossom vs petrified-affection-greenskeeper rescpectively). Primary of browns, secondary of greens and yellows, and tertiary a wide range including greens, yellows, oranges, browns, reds, and pinks.

Hellebore is my 4th generation naturally primal-eyed tree dragon; hopefully he and Heucherella will turn up a 5th generation one in considerably less than the 50-odd clutches it took for his parents to have him!
