When I originally posted this on 2017, the final movie hadn't come out yet. Sadly, this was supposed to be a big event (not even making this up, I wanted to travel to Japan or to a fancy premiere, this carried significance as I grew up with this show.) However, due to Covid and I also suspect due to Hideaki Anno hate towards foreigners and his work, the final movie was simply put on Amazon Primer and Japan were the only ones that enjoyed an emotional closure. I was incredibly sad. Movies are art, and they are meant to be enjoy with others or in an event, otherwise what is the point.
A deeper observation of what I am trying to say, the creator of Yugioh said before dying that He was so happy of his work, not because it was a deep critically aclaimed art piece, but because it brough people toguether. I have a friendship of more than 15 or 20 years thanks to Yugioh. That's how profound it is, me and my school friend used to get toguether to watch and play Yugioh.
Evangelion helped me make so much sense of my abandonment and of being in love. Also helped me to accept things and helped me fall inlove with mechas and military aircraft. Hideaki is such a hater, ruined the experience for me.
