“It doesn’t work like that. It only works with someone else’s lovely hands.”

Kayn was shocked to see that his lovely goddess didn’t groan or rub her temple at his presence- a positive outcome indeed! She must be starting to like him. He smiled triumphantly as he stepped closer, letting go of the souls which instinctively floated towards Diana.
“You could say that.” He mused, “Had some catching up to do with old friends and family. Then I caught a lead on one of those souls; lost in some dark forest littered with demonic lizards. Demonic lizards! It was crazy!” He laughed.
“Then I came across the other one on my way back. I would have been here sooner if I wasn’t jumped by some brigands and knocked out. Took me weeks to track them down and get all of my stuff back.”
“Anyways,” Kayn flipped his hair so it was out of his face. “Why not praise me for a job well done, hm? I know I deserve it.”
The deity had great bounds of patience, and his arrival was far from something that would make it waver, even in the slightest. That is, until he opened his mouth. Regardless, her exterior would be the same, even if the glow in her eyes flashed slightly as she took a deep, silent breath.
“Quite the adventure. But I’m glad both the souls and you got here safely.”
She said, a nonchalant tone. He did not seem like he needed any great amounts of healing, but as the souls circled her upon being reunited, a hand would raise towards him. Her silver light would envelop him if but for a moment, making sure everything was mended. The woman choosing to do this, rather than acknowledge his little request, at least for the time being.
“Had I known they would be lost in such a tormented place, I’d have sent you much sooner and with a protection glyph. Alas, this shall do. Enough praise, I presume?”
She said rather rhetorically. His efforts, however, had not been ignored.

Kayn narrowed his gaze, a look of annoyance on his face.
“You’ll never compare to Jiawen no matter how hard you try-” He said in a high-pitched mocking tone, “Do I look like I care? And do I look like some personal butler to you?”
He sauntered up to the swordsman and slung an arm around his shoulders, using his other hand to ruffle up his hair. “All you do is whine and demand things! What are you? A baby? Awww does the wittle baby want attention?”
Immediately, their expression soured. This mortal truly was such a pain! Not only did he demand al of Jiawen’s attention (which they wanted for themselves), he had the gall to be so disrespectful towards them. Ugh, truly the worst mortals had to offer.
“If it is attention you offer, then you should do so properly.” If Kayn truly was one to feign shamelessness to bother them, then he was stupider than they expected. Ao Bimei grinned coquettishly, a hand resting upon Kayn’s shoulder and slipping closer to the hem of his clothes. Indeed, a thumb slipped across his skin.
A threat. A promise.
They looked up at him. “Really, you humans are hopeless. At least kiss me before touching me so.”

[IJ Kayn] "Ohhh Diana~!" The young man called, dangling the two souls he had managed to recapture for the goddess. "I come bearing gifts and request the reward of motherly love!"

“Motherly lov-?” She repeated as she turned around, but her words stopped once she saw who it was.
Her silver eyes glowed towards him, an eyebrow raising, as if mildly surprised.
“I see. Good to see you back. Troubles in the mortal realm, was it?”
She asked, gaze at times focusing at the souls he handled, a hum escaping her to express her disapproval towards his carelessness.

Confrontation
Chapter 1
The Ordinal paced around the bridge of his ship, brows furrowed and hands clenched behind his back. His captain stood beside him, stoic as ever, while the crew rushed around in a hurry. His mind was a jumbled mess; on one hand he was worried about the crew members aboard the transport ship coming back from Ionan, and on the other he was trying to remain cool and collected. Think logically. Make the right decisions.
Not even a few minutes ago a distress call rang onto the sound system- the static mixing with the blood curdling screams of the transporters crew were blasted for all within his ship to hear. Something had broken into their vessel and began slaughtering everyone aboard and those who were alive held themselves up in the main bridge, which was how they were able to broadcast the emergency signal.
Almost immediately the broadcast was cut off and Kayn ordered the tech team to re-establish communications. Over ten minutes had passed and they were still in the dark, that is, until the black screen burst to life with gray static. Not the expected outcome, but progress nonetheless. Had he not known that this specific ship carried copious amounts of unprocessed ora, he wouldn’t have responded with such haste.
“Sir! We’ve re-established connection with the transport ship but there seems to be some kind of firewall set up to prevent us from using the monitor.” Cadet Romulus called from his seat at the front of the ship.

‘ is that so? ’ there is amusement in her voice, a chuckle following a grin. ‘ well, hard to argue with that. I’m pretty sure your jaw is strong enough to carry your point across just fine. but now that you mention the rules, I’m curious - how exactly does this one sound? “when at a dead-end, bite people”? ’
