this was done for the hijikata bday bash in may, and a lot of effort went into writing it. I took a long break from writing fic, and coming back, I wanted to write something that felt true to the characters and their motivations. it’s very different from my previous works in terms of effort and depth, so kudos and comments are greatly appreciated.
