Rae Hight and Katie Zhuk wear vegan in NYFW

On Wednesday Feb 6th Images models Rae Hight and Katie Zhuk walked Vaute Couture’s 100% vegan fashion show. This was the first vegan, cruelty-free fashion show to run during NYFW.

Vaute Couture was founded in 2008 by Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart and is truly one of a kind. Hilgart was on a mission to find a winter dress coat that was completely vegan yet warm enough for winter. Since 2008, Vaute Couture has expanded its line to include satin dresses, t-shirts, skirts, pants, and sweaters. The fabrics used (organic cotton velvet, metallic vegan leather, 100% recycled satin and waxed canvas) have never been seen before at any show in NYFW.

The Humane Society of the United States sponsored the show, which was inspired by Leanne’s love of the Sailor Moon cartoon. DeVita and Champu Salon did all vegan makeup and hair. Stay tuned for photos!
