My Grandma Is Awesome

Last night me and my grandma were discussing the disgustingness of Trump and this blond bimbo who supports him on the 360 View (i think that’s what this talk show is called) who keeps trying to group all Democrats together and blaming Hilary Clinton for what her husband Bill Clinton did when he was president. Like what the actual fuck? Hilary is not her husband. She also tries to justify the stereotyping of what Trump said about the situation of African Americans saying all of them are in poverty, shitty schools, and most of their youth unemployed.

My grandma hates stereotyping of this nature. My grandma is First Nation Aboriginal and told me that any time a First Nation is shown in the paper or on TV it is usually of a drunken man sitting/laying on a park bench promoting the stereotype that all First Nations are drunks and living in poverty when that is not the case for my grandma’s brother and sister who both own beautiful homes on the reserve that they’ve lived on for their whole lives.

One time when my grandma was visiting a friend (white person) he pointed out something negative about a First Nations in the news paper (They were being arrested for something, I think robbery or murder) and said “Look your people”. Grandma took the newspaper, which by the way contains more stuff about the bad things that white people do than other nationalities, flips to a page about how a white man was arrested for being a pedophile and said “Look your people”, her friend quickly said “Okay, okay”. Grandma bites back! 

I can’t remember if she said he apologized or not but my grandma told me that people will look for the smallest thing in a plethora of negativity and say “Look!” to convict other nationalities and not bother reading the whole article or newspaper to see how most of it contains the bad things that white people do. What if the First Nation Aboriginal was convicted of murder because they were being attacked and had to defend themselves? 

Because white people are the majority they believe consciously/unconsciously that they can pick and choose their facts while denying others. If two people were convicted of murder one black and one white they would say “Look! See! All black people are possible murderers!” while when it comes to a white person they don’t hesitate to say “So? It’s only one person and they don’t represent all of us.”

The double standard and hipocricy is real.

Hypocrite Judge

Oh, I’m so tired. This is all just a blur for me. Nothing is making sense in my head. I laugh at these kids because I think I’m oh so great. But can I even be honest to myself? I’m just afraid to be like everyone else, so I hide beneath this complex I made. I’m just a liar. Even though I nod and go along with everyone else, I don’t like it! Afraid of being judged by peers, I trick myself to think like them. To have feelings like them. How vile I’ve become, how selfish. Oh won’t you laugh at this helpless liar, oh won’t you laugh at this helpless hypocrite!
