BLISS

That feeling when you’re out in the wild, seemingly miles away from the city and all that surrounds you is nature’s calling. 

(Reality: It was a hot hot day and my face is not representative of the agony of scaling 5 summits that morning: Por Kai Shan (482m) - Pok To Yan (529m) - Lin Fa Shan (766m) - Yi Tung Shan (747m) - Sunset Peak (869m). Neither can you see my battlewound of scratches all over my legs from overgrown bushes...Despite that, the happiness of being out there and conquering the mountains is real.)

TRAIL FAMILY

Clichéd as it sounds, one of the things I love most about trailrunning is that it can be as individual or group-oriented as you want it to be. There are days where I just want to head out for a solo run to detox and reconnect with my inner self. Other times I want to be with others and bandwagon onto a sense of motivation and purposeful training. There are no limits to who you meet and befriend on the trails and most recently I met GF and RC, a couple of local friends who are bound for the CCC this year, on one of the meetup weekend hiking sessions. They have since been kind enough to welcome me to their weekly rounds on Parker and invite me on their longer hikes during the weekend and I am grateful always to the friendships found and gained on the trails.
