DYK⁉️ Your feet changes over time? Newer skates made with all synthetic materials do not change its shape with your anatomy. This is why older skates lasts longer as their design meets durability/performance/pricing standards. There’s no more skills training invested at retail stores to ensure proper fit. Sales reps used to train everyone and are the experts. Don’t get Essan started on skates bought online with instructions to heat up in tradition ovens at home OR pro stock used gear made for that specific player. Your only connection to ice is 3mm of steel like Shanny said years ago. Correct fitting with proper maintenance of your skates are THAT IMPORTANT. This is why pro level teams and serious development programs have their own trainers & equipment managers. The Pros get to the show by knowing what they NEED out of their gear and having the equipment managers in their locker rooms keeping their gear in order. No one in the pros WAITS 12 hours to get on the Ice when they “custom fit” boot oven their skates. Practical, pragmatic Expertise you can feel. In 30 minutes or less you’ll learn more about your feet. ✅Replaced aftermarket $60 insoles with new sets ✅Replaced with new Rivet guard liners ✅Reconditioned leather liner on VH hand made skates. ✅Stitched/Replaced blown eyelets ✅Removed dirt, lint, grime off both pairs. Unless you play for Barracuda (AHL or Sharks (NHL), I’m all you got in Northern California. 99.99% of us do not play PRO Hockey, we can only pretend we do. And that’s Ok! Essan was fortunate enough to experience first-hand on multiple occasions in different states, even in Canada, what it’s like to be with professional equipment managers. BAHR is a teaching shop. Essan’s value cannot be felt instantaneously since there’s no rink inside his shop. Sports is a real life, analog, ephemeral experience unique to the user.
