They were children all 12 of them raised by monsters, never knowing a kind touch from one of their own species. From the age of 3 or 4 made to placate and feed their monster. Taught to hate and fear each other to back stab to trick to hurt to be the best killers the most destructive. Low blood and high, each caste taught to subjugate the one below them all bending in fear of a monster that will kill the galaxy. Made to kill to feed other children other beasts. Never show the weakness of leasers, your a royal, your a noble, your a servant, your a slave. Fullfil your role be who the adults nebulous judges and superiors and above all the Condesceance the omnipotent ruler who steals life with a touch. God did any of them have a chance? Forced to save the universe, do everything right, face their own deaths all while the clock ticks above them, hunted by monsters, agents and exiles, facing their societal traits, teachings, training. Hampering, backstabbing, but needing to work together. Facing down the rigors of romance, and, hormones, and puberty, made even more confusing by their society. Who would do this to children
i was talking with my friend and we are APPREHENSIVELY sure we MAY HAVE cracked the classpects of the omega kids. based on the theory that their classes/aspects are what the alpha and beta kids lacked.
harry would be the bard of mind
vrissy would be the thief of blood
yiffy would be the mage of rage
tavvy would be the sylph of doom
i'm pretty sure people have thought of this before me, but my relatively short explanations are below the cut - askbox is open for further interrogation :>
okay i'll go through this quickly so i won't touch on all details and evidence - i am kind of going off of vibe. i am definitely extrapolating. but i really think we're on to something!!! and of course, HSBC spoilers alllll the way down baby
starting with harry: destruction of mind, or destruction through mind. mind is the aspect of pretense, of outer-self, of projection. at a very simple level of a bard of mind acts much like a heart player. harry is uniquely himself, with odd traits that seem innately emotional. he's also a little bit misguided.
as my moirail so aptly puts it:
which is a bit unfair and a bit untrue, but that statement is quite nicely rectified with...
which is very fair and very true! but back to harry. he's a smart person. he is able to deal with an immensely harsh situation with rationale and logic. in the below screenshot, he talks about "tactically" discussing his life passions with john to keep him from looking at the news.
i think that there's a lot of potential for actualisation if harry is a bard of mind. it could present a side to him that is over-rational, stubborn and apathetic.
VRISSY! i said quickly, didn't i? right. she's not a light player, but she is a thief. that's the serket in her. she is a blood player. thief of blood.
she's a thief of bonds - she has a matesprit, she has a kismesis, she has two VERY important to the narrative parents, she has the relavent ancestor, she's actively talking to ly'lac. she is somehow fucking related to yiffy as well. she is stealing all of the bonds! all of them. i don't even want to extrapolate on this, this is possibly the most clearcut classpect out of all of these. screenshot below is only here to impress upon how many bonds she has.
aaaalrighty and we're onto yiffy in record time. defiance, anger, and the means to change things through strength of friggin will. a mage of rage KNOWS rage. has suffered through it. yiffy suffers so much at the hands of her very own existence. mage's know their aspect innately, and yiffy has experienced a lot of it.
at a meta-textual level, yiffy exists to ragebait the audience. this is something my (mentioned) moirail said once in conversation and has NEVER once left my mind. from her inception, she was rage. i will be genuinely shocked if she's not.
and finally, tavros crocker. god you poor thing. doom player based on his whole goddamn existence, but He's A Sylph For An Amazing Reason!
holy aspect ratio. anyways! doom is the aspect of negativity, withdrawal, and. well. doom. sylphs heal through their aspect, or rather, create through it. he has been conditioned to accept his fate. he is resigned to it. rather than restricting his own life, his life has BEEN restricted. he will be able to heal/create through that doom his life is consumed by.
ultimately, tavvy will have to break free from his conditioning to act upon his aspect. and he will. :) he's jake and jane's kid, as fucked as the union is.
anyway! hope you enjoyed! if tavros crocker isn't a sylph of doom after this i will cry my eyes out. (hyperbole. kinda)
I just finished all of homestuck!! (I’m probably not gonna read the epilogues for a while) but yeah! Absolutely amazing, I did in fact cry at the end. There were a lot of things I didn’t know were just fanon and I wanted to make a list of them!
1. Lil Hal full robot design- I totally thought that was gonna pop up at some point, like the glasses would get an upgrade to fight lord English or something
2. Gamzee angst- idk people just seemed so sympathetic towards him and idk if I just need to read between the lines this time or something but he just seemed like he was having fun and was everywhere just for funnies 😭
3. Prominent dirkjake- maybe this is just a personal preference thing but the ship really isn’t as interesting as i thought it would be?? It just felt kinda offscreened 😅
4. Dave “Elizabeth” strider - no comment i just thought that was canon
5. This might seem crazy but I really thought Vriska was gonna be worse?? She just kinda seems like a product of her upbringing
There’s more I have so I might reblog this with my other stuff later
Since they have captchalogue cards as an in-universe inventory system, are women in the homestuck universe uninhibited by lack of convenient on-person storage, as in the real world with pocketless clothing (or arguably worse, fake pockets)?
Do they need pockets?
Does anyone in the homestuck universe need pockets?
Do handbags (or any kind of bag) need to exist in a world with captchalogue cards?
Do you think Dolorosa ever thought about her sons death when she's a slave for Dualscar or Mindfang? Do you think she ever blames herself for his death? Do you think she ever replayed his death in her mind to think of a possiblity of him being saved? Of him never having to go through the pain of being crusified, being exploited and used as an example of disobediance, as an example of what happens when you go against the statusquo?
Do you think she ever thinks back to the night she found him? A little grub with a color so bright you could pick him out in the dim light of the twin moons. I wonder if she thought back on that night fondly like most parents do when they hold their baby for the first time. Cradling him in her arms and seeing that he held the potential to be someone great. I wonder how she felt being his mother. I know she was fulfilled, but was she terrified for her baby? Terrified that the both of them would be killed for simply existing in a world that wanted neither of them? Do you ever wonder if she regreted leaving the brooding caverns? Does she regret not going back with him in her arms? Not going back and convincing the other jade bloods that they can raise the grub by themselves and teach him to be like all of them.
Do you think Disciple ever thought that maybe one day she could move on from her lovers death? Do you think she sat in that cave alone for sweeps crying herself to sleep longing for the release of death to see the love of her life again? Do you think she wrote down everything she did so that one day maybe, just maybe, someone in her lifetime would see his words and say that they want that too? Do you think she scared off other people because she was terrified to make another connection as deep as she did with Signless? That she was horrified at the idea of losing someone again that she couldn't even bare the idea to speak to another person. Do you think she ever learned of Dolorosa's death?
Do you think Psiioniic ever pleaded for his own death? Do you think he ever talked about what happened to his best friend? Do you think that over time he gradually began to forget those he grew up with and lost? Do you think he ever forgot what Signless looks like, but remembers his screams like they were yesterday? Do you think he ever talked to himself and spoke what he remembered from Signless' surmons? Do you think that deep in the Condess' ship as the battery that Psiioniic tried to convince himself that everything was just a dream? A horrid dream and that at any moment he would wake up, but deep down he knew it was all real. That it was real that he couldn't stop Signless' death.
Do you ever think that they all thought of ways to have stopped Signless' death? To stop his suffering?
Do you think any of this pain came down to their decendants?
