Proud Mama.
Today, both of my babies got awarded at their school. My daughter, a first grader, got her third & final award for this school year. Since Pre-School, she has been on honor roll; every year she works harder to succeed in all her subject areas. My son, his first year in school, being a pre-schooler, received his first honors award today. Every time his teacher sees me, she tells me how proud she is of my son. At this point, hes reading a few words on his own- and words he does not recognize, he’ll try to sound them out. Im on top of the world. On cloud nine. Watching them go on stage and cross over to the other side made me feel all mushy, as always. I love my kids to death. I know that sometimes Im hard on them, but this is why. I want them to know that hard work pays off-and it feels good when you’re acknowledged for it. I get so emotional, because they ARE my pride and joy. To see them growing up to be intelligent, independent, loving, caring kids; who wouldn’t take pride in that?? Time flies. Sometimes I wish I could stop time, sometimes I wish I could go back in time, but I appreciate every moment Ive been able to share with them. Since 2009, Ive been able to share every moment with my daughter. I never missed anything. When she started school, up until this point- Ive been to every Parent Teacher meeting, Ive chaperoned EVERY trip, Ive volunteered at school activities- and its been a privilege to do so. Same for Angel, since 2011- I havent missed a single milestone. Even when I was in pain, fresh out of surgery- I took care of him- because thats what mothers do. This year was his first year in school, and it started off rocky, because we have always been close. It was hard to get him to go inside lol, but he came around- and he is now one of the top students in his class. I sit and reflect. Im so thankful to God...because WE couldnt have come this far without Him. My kids tell me all the time how much they love me, and how they have the “best mom”, and how Im a super mom to them... But just like they see me that way, they too are my heroes. Ive always said it. They push me to continue moving forward. They inspire me. They make me want to be better. Im a proud mom, and they have a father who is just as proud too. It was a blessing to share today with the person who created these 2 beautiful beings with me.
Like my daughter told me earlier, “Im so glad we have each other”.
Me too Melody, Me too.
