Another option for framing works on paper: Float mount with a double matte. The matte will make sure the glass doesn't touch the paper (in case condensation forms). My 5"x5" artwork (pretty Petty Harbour) doesn't fit this ready-made frame for a 5x7 inch. But if it came in a square with an opening for a 6x6 inch artwork, it would be perfect, non? I love original art in the home. There's just something about it that adds joy and energy. Works on paper are usually less expensive and a great way to add some love to your home. But it kills me when the frame costs more than the art. So for paper, a ready-made frame is a good affordable option. They don't work for stretched canvas because these are too deep, and ready made frames are usually made for prints or photos. If you have an antique or other frame that is the right size but the matte is wrong, or is missing, you can also get a custom cut matte. These are not that expensive. The framer has tools to make that nice bevelled edge. I'm all about helping you get more art in your life. Looking at art makes us feel love. What an easy way to get more love in your life.
