Me at 12 years old first reading Homestuck: The characters are so cool! I wish I could go on adventures like them!

Me at 28 rereading the comic: These are literally children. They're only 13 years old, they're like in 6th/7th grade depending. They're like fresh out of elementary school. They're still full of the childlike wonder and whimsy. They think they know the world when they're actually clueless to just how cruel and unfair it is. They should be outside playing and worrying about homework and being silly and kinda cringey but in a good way like other kids their age. Not literally playing a game that ends the fucking world and leaves them suddenly forced to grow up and leave their childhood behind. I'm gonna go insane these are kids, capable ones yes but still kids-
