Title: The House We Are About to Lose
Hook Line: "Sometimes people don’t need miracles. Sometimes they just need another human being to stop and say — I see your pain."
My name is Subodh Kumar, and I am from India.
I am an 80% paralyzed person living a life I never imagined for myself. I was not born dreaming of sympathy. Like every person, I had dreams, responsibilities, and hopes for my family. I wanted to stand strong for them. But life had other plans.
I come from a very poor family. There are six members in my family, and today there is no earning member in our home. My long illness slowly took away not only my health but also the financial stability of my family.
Month after month, treatment expenses increased. Debt increased. Pain increased.
To survive, my family had to borrow money from moneylenders. The burden became so heavy that the only thing we had left — our house — was mortgaged. Our home, the place where my children sleep and where our family still tries to hold on to hope, now feels like something slipping away from our hands.
Today, we are completely unable to repay the debt and bring our home back.
The struggle for treatment and survival has become so difficult that even my three children's education has stopped. As a father, this pain is difficult to describe. Watching your children slowly move away from their dreams feels like standing in the rain while your entire world disappears.
I tried many charity foundations seeking help. I knocked on doors with hope. Unfortunately, no help came. I also have very little hope of receiving any support from government sources.
Today, my family stands at the edge of complete destruction, and honestly, I cannot see a clear road ahead.
Still, somewhere deep inside me, I believe humanity still exists.
I am not asking for luxury. I am not asking for comfort.
I am asking for a chance — a chance for my children to continue their education, a chance to save our home, and a chance for my family to survive.
If my story touches your heart, I humbly request you to help us in any way possible or share this message so it can reach someone who can.
Even one act of kindness can become a new beginning for a family that is slowly losing hope.
My family will remain grateful for your support throughout our lives.
