Felt bad, drew Alois This would've made a great Halloween post, but alas!

I think I may as well talk about Containment Failure while I'm here: Basically, its being scrapped! I really wanted to make a yandere vn, but I found I ended up focusing so much on the point and click aspects and interactions with other characters, and not enough about the kind of relationship you build with Alois.

So to rectify that, I've gone back to the drawing board, and have been writing up a new script. The plots different, too. You're no longer a patient trying to escape the facility, but rather one of the workers, and you end up with Alois as your assignment.

I've spent the past few weeks planning it, and unlike Containment Failure, I have all the events and endings planned out, I just need to write it. I'll also be switching to Renpy for this, for as much as I love RPG Maker, its not the best engine for pure visual novels

Doing a few game jams, and succesfully completing them, made me realise I need to keep things on the smaller side, so thats what I'm gonna do! This recreation shall be called:

Hello Tumblr, I've been working on a point and click styled horror visual novel for a few months now during my free time, and posting my progress on Bluesky. I figured I should make a blog though as I wanna go into more detail about what I'm doing!

So what even is this game about anyway?

Taken against your will by stranged masked individuals, you were brought to a secret facility and kept there for several months, all the while an unknown disease is transforming your body.

One day however, you wake up to the sounds of chaos. As it turns out, something has gone terribly wrong, and so you realise this is your chance to escape!

But you will not be alone...

This is Alois, a fellow captive, and someone who claims to have been your lover. You don't remember him, but you realise you don't remember much from your life before being abducted. Not only that, but he knows your name... So maybe he's telling the truth? Either way, he'll be with you throughout the journey, where you'll meet many other individuals. Some might be friendly, but some...

Won't be.

Navigate your way through a dangerous facility, encounter strange individuals, and develop your relationship with Alois, for better or for worse.

Escape alive, or die trying.

So this little game of mine is a hobby, and as a result I cannot really guarantee any kind of time frame for when this'll come out. I'd like to get a demo out for October, but no promised! Meanwhile, I'll be posting any updates here, and possibly some concepts if people don't mind spoilers. Feel free to ask about the game, I'll try to answer as best I can!

Also just to make things clear; Yes, this is a yandere game :D

Focused on some of the intro art the last couple of weeks, time spent between this, the other secret project, and my brand new Vgen account!

I'm planning to put more focus on Vgen for the next few weeks to get a raffle setup, so the next progress update for this game may take longer.

In the meantime, look at this poor fecker. Wonder who they're running from?

Now's a good time to say I won't always update in a timely manner due to numerous reasons :p

So I managed to get all the Cat related events done, and now I've moved onto another character called Crow as they have relation to the Med ward depending on your actions. I need to get their sprites drawn, possibly a cg, and a couple more events related to some other characters- They've got quite a few connections which is why I've decided to focus on them!

I also think at this point a demo release for October 31st is unlikely to happen, there's simply so much left to do and I'd rather take my time with it. End of year demo though may be a possibility, we shall see!
