Penny Appeal USA's School WASH Project is a beacon of hope in rural India, addressing the critical issue of clean water scarcity. Targeting five schools facing significant challenges, the initiative not only provided a sustainable supply of clean water but also tackled water-borne diseases that plagued the community.

The establishment of water stations within school premises was a game-changer, immediately alleviating health risks. Beyond infrastructure, the project focused on educating students about proper hygiene practices, transforming them into advocates for cleanliness within their communities.

Wash kits distributed to children symbolized a commitment to well-being, leading to improved hygiene practices. Recognizing the challenge of water storage, the project provided 20-liter water cans to households, fostering a culture of cleanliness and health beyond school boundaries.

With the support of @spg, Clean the World has launched a 9 month hygiene education program in Kenya serving over 4,000 children. In the past month nearly 70% of the children suffered from a hygiene-related illness resulting in nearly 40% of the students missing 4+ days of school. Our goal is to teach them how, when and why to wash their hands while providing the children and their families with CTW soap to stay healthy. Stay tuned for more updates on our Kenya program!
