"I need this job. If you're looking for a temporary assistant, I'm perfect! I have plenty of experience, and my boss is out of the country for the year -- I'm yours until then!"
It wasn't professional and Hana knew it, but she was getting desperate. How was she supposed to know her boss would leave so suddenly? Hana couldn't even blame her considering what her family was going through, and was sure Seoyun had other things on her mind than her assistant.
But what else would pay her bills and what else was she trained to do?
"At least give me a week. If you hate me, then send me away."

Her warmth sticks in his throat, gums up the chalky skull-pores beneath his skin.
Feyd-Rautha nods, a slow predator's curve around the table, the smattering of blood that yet clings to his boots whispering of his whereabouts. His going-tos. All have and must lead to her-- this he's come to understand, no matter the drive to dissect himself and pull it out. Fruitlessly; it's cellular, symbiotic, interwoven atomically.
"There will be more, Wife. I'll save the next round for you."
Her remnant desire is vile, and it's a worm that creeps where blood pools fastest. Feyd licks his lips, a thumb and forefinger to draw her gaze, to tempt her teeth.
Hard?
There's no fun without a little autopsy.
"You know I can't deny you," draw him by the noose of lust or the exorcism of mind; he knows what she can do. He's watched, he's consumed it readily, a filthy undoing of flesh and soul.
Perfection.
The same thing that wishes to peel her flesh away and lap at her bones yearns for the same gift in return. He'll kneel for her. He'll split her open, too. And Kaeleeena, deeeaaarest wife, knows that he's infected her just as thoroughly. She's the only one he'll allow to kill him.
"Mind the expiration date."

Venturing in a city new to her was never an unknown for Kairo these days, keeping cool, calm and collected, and very very very aware of her surroundings as she traversed amongst humans, disguised. An easy, physical illusion with dark hair, brown eyes, human ears... An old party trick that never went out of practice for her, allowing her to walk mostly unnoticed. Through small bursts of crowds, or otherwise keeping mostly out of sight when in empty streets, Kairo had long memorized her reasoning for arriving here days before she arrived to Seoul.
The long-standing effort of finding other non-humans, finding other sanctuaries, other splits in the world that led to her home lands and connecting it back home in Washington State persevered through today's mission. It was difficult to make contact with those who didn't want to be found, but Kairo herself once lived that life. Now she, and her friends and family back home, wanted them to know peace too, and build a hidden community and alliances.
It was also her way of seeking out any potential threats not just to their hidden society of non-humans but anything that immediately threatened humans too. A duty entrusted to her by all overseeing deities on this plane of existence.
And finally, of course, being aware of how much one could fly under the radar by making connections with humans or otherwise that had any semblance of power in the city that could help conceal their tracks. Keep their files sealed.
Kairo was more than reluctant with that last bit - maybe it was a residual paranoia in the wake of the war nearly a decade ago now - but she was hesitant putting any sort of trust of the security of registered information of non-humans in a database in the hands of humans again. But what else could she do?
She turned the corner to an empty street and sighed, the warm summer air pressing against her skin. She had been put in contact with someone and had arranged to meet near their home, but her phone had died an hour before arriving, and of course her brilliant mind, for once, didn't think to write down the gods damned address. Biting back frustration, she lingered on the corner hoping she was at least somewhat near the meeting point.

Where Kairo was off to Seoul, Alex had taken off to the UK. However, this wasn't new grounds for her - familiar territories of smaller towns and villages nestled across the country just outside of the main cities found small populations of other magic folk and non-humans they had contact with, and merchants Alex personally had very positive business ties with. But, nothing new could be found from territory already traveled, right?
Usually on a similar mission to her patron, Alex was off, much more apprehensive than Kai, despite being a seasoned traveler by now. She wasn't unfamiliar to the social patterns of this - find a town, make a good impression, and hopefully begin to foster positive alliances and offer protection where needed. Not all of her endeavors went right, of course, and she expected that. But, the hope was to maintain some semblance of optimism.
Yet, with the optimism, came a small pit of dread settled behind her navel. A familiar feeling, an 'instinct', if you will, as she stepped out of an isolated alleyway, raincoat drawn closed as a drizzle descended upon the city of London. A busied afternoon allowed her to be swept up in a small gathering of folk headed for lunch or for public transportation.
She was sent to investigate for any signs of corruption, anything even remotely akin to what was the Hunters' grand design, and root it out before it could take. And as always, avoid any intel of already existing communities from getting out, and seal the portals leading to D'ithrunae - Kairo, Kori and Allie's homeland.
Easy stuff, right?
She stepped out of the crowd into a narrow roadway and pressed against a brick building to her right, sighing as she felt a little overwhelmed. This felt a little 'needle in the haystack' of all places for her to start.
