In light of Lev’s casting in the HBO show, I'd like to talk a little about one of Ian’s lesser-known roles as the character Brother from the movie Daughter by Corey Deshon.
The Movie is about a girl, the titular Daughter, who gets kidnapped and held hostage by a man, Father, who runs his house like a cult.
It's kind of an arthouse, psychological thriller type movie, it was definitely experimental, and not really meant to appeal to a mass audience, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I think they nailed the claustrophobic feeling of living in an unstable home, having to walk on eggshells around a family member who's potentially dangerous.
I think Brother is one of Ian’s better roles, I think Ian really thrives when placed in dramatic roles, he was clearly having a blast playing Brother, and was really stretching his acting muscles.
The character of Brother is someone who has been completely phychology cracked by the home he lives in.
The movie is available on Tubi for free if anyone is interested in watching it :)
