while his fighting styles have evolved with time, hector was trained since a young age to be a soldier, so his reactions have always been sharp. he values individuals, but if war occurs and he decides to take part, he’s ruthless. a weapon himself, there’s no hesitation. he kills quickly, mercifully. in small scale conflict situations directed at himself, he tends to back out. he doesn’t see the point in fighting. he also carries himself with the confidence of someone who knows he’d win in a fistfight.
again, raised in the military, he learnt that sometimes it was adapt or die. he’s always been quick thinking, so coming up with a plan b has never been that hard. change in the long-run has been much harder to come to grips with. he’s had to disconnect himself or suffer the consequences of attachment (which make him feel more present and human so of course he’s preferred the latter choice). hector has come to roll with the punches, so to speak. letting himself feel the pain that change brings is a big part of being able to let go.
he has many, naturally! first and foremost, where he feels most at home, greece. naturally, he loves arcadia, but he also loves sailing so he has a yacht he holidays on fairly often, touring the various islands in the mediterranean. he feels at home in the thick forrests of england, the wide open plains in western america, the ruins of rome.
“familiar. sentimental. a part of me. slightly lost, slightly found. as far as i travel, i’m always going to be greek. my name is hector, i am spartan.” his light eyes squint, frowning as he searches for the words. “how would i describe it, now i’ve said how it makes me feel? warm. i know the grass, i know the sky, i know the stars. i return to it and i return to myself. hm– this isn’t exactly a travel brochure. how can i say this? well, greece is warm, it’s ancient, and it’s beautiful. i love many places, but none like it. again… not much of a travel brochure.”
