November 4th, 2025: Congratulations are in order for a new maiko! Ichitama (市珠) of Ichi (市) in Kamishichiken is celebrating her misedashi! She is the fourth debut from Kamishichiken this year (but not the last!) and the second from Ichi in the last month! Unlike other Ichi girls, her name contains kanji rather than hiragana to write the second half of her name! Her outfit features multicolored cranes among golden haze and a golden karabana obi ^^ おめでとうさんどす市珠ちゃん ^o^! Image is courtesy of the Kamishichiken Kabukai.

It seems to be a good year for Tokyo Shinbashi! On 1. October 2024, Ichitama (いち玉), the first new member of Masamorikawa Okiya, made her debut as a Geisha. She is the third new Geisha to debut in this district in 2024, and there were no retirements so far. Like her Okasan Kotama, she is a Jikata specialised in Nagauta. There are now ten Jikata and 29 Tachikata Geisha working in Shinbashi.
