Long before the movies came out, most people forget Cat Woman, and the Joker were played by a Black woman and a Latino man.

That’s Eartha Kitt as Catwoman from the 1960s Batman TV series.

The Joker in that series was played by Cesar Romero. And yes—he was of Cuban descent (born in New York City to Cuban/Spanish family heritage), so Hispanic/Latino heritage, yes.

Fun fact: Cesar Romero famously refused to shave his signature mustache for the Joker role, so makeup artists painted the white clown makeup right over it. You can actually see it in episodes if you look closely.

My Favourite TV Characters.

CHARACTER: Tahani Al-Jamil

PLAYED BY: Jameela Jamil

SHOW: The Good Place (2016-2020)

Tahani Al-Jamil was a charismatic, intelligent and very fashionable British-Pakistani socialite. Desperate to please her parents and always living in the shadow of her sister, Tahani devoted herself to philanthropy. She is a brilliant conversationalist, a talented hostess, and is very fashionable, with a slight obsession for designer things and lavish parties. Her idea of hell is "being forced to wear a knockoff handbag". She also has a tendency to name-drop as many celebrities as she can and to constantly humblebrag.

By the end of the series she becomes a fully well rounded person, she learns to be a better friend, listen to people and develop genuine relationships and rely less on external validation.

British TV presenter and activist turned actress Jameela Jamil was a pleasant surprise when I tuned into The Good Place, showing off her comedy chops, I can't imagine anyone being able to play this iconic character.
