Sherry has such a neat pattern on her wings

Sherry got grabbed by a redtailed hawk yesterday (they got literally cornered between 2 sides of the house, i always hate seeing them out there and clearly my fears were warranted) and i chased it off. she is not feeling great but seems alright. fingers crossed she doesnt have punctures causing internal bleeding or something, otherwise i expect she'll be okay once shes not so sore. i think it had her by the neck and she does act like its sore but i cant see any severe injury besides a few pokes on her.

shes so pretty and also looks like you could throw her like a javelin

she has one spot healing near her wattle but is otherwise completely back to normal after being nearly eaten twice

she looks like a tool or device you can use

the intermediate sets of flight feathers are proportionately much narrower and flimsier. they started growing when the chicks were much smaller, and they dont need to last long.

the phoenix girls - sandy, janey, sherry, rosalita, wendy. theyre about 7 months old.

i think its interesting some of them have quite a small comb even though theyre young and laying
