could you possibly post the gif of the woman in the pink dress on the bottom left of the chicago post as a single? completely cool if you won't, just thought i should give asking you a shot. thank you! it is truly a wonderful set (i don't agree with your tag saying it's bad at all).
aw thank you!sure!you mean like this?
great tags on the comics post 👍 apart from the lack of accessiblity in India and the expense, another thing that makes me wary of starting with comics is.... like. i don't trust them with portrayal of women. if in postures and how they draw women and design their costumes they are already letting me down and i haven't even read anything, what would the story be like?
Thanks! I definitely see where you’re coming from. Unfortunately the objectification of female characters in comics remains a huge problem. I’ve seen people defend it as “freedom of artistic expression”, argue some alarmingly creepy shit like, “would you prefer us to objectify real women instead?” (glad to know being sexualized is our only purpose in life). Others put up a valiant, albeit tone-deaf effort, “Oh but straight women get fanserviced too, look at Aquaman, he’s mad ripped!”. I lived through the Greg Rucka vs. Frank Cho debacle. The bullshit, I’ve seen it all.
The thing is, and I know this is where a lot of people will disagree, I do believe that there is a way to work with revealing female superhero costumes without reducing said female characters to a sexy lamp. I can’t really justify Power Girl’s boob window or most of Starfire’s outrageous outfits, but Wonder Woman, when drawn with some dignity or respect, doesn’t look that bad at all. Just stop highlighting her ass in panels where she’s facing away from the “camera”, stop drawing panels where everything is framed between her legs, stop drawing her in poses where her ass and boobs jut out in physically improbable ways, stop drawing her with insane, Rob Liefield-esque proportions. It can be done. They just can’t be bothered to do it because it’s easier to pander to the lowest common denominator.
Okay. Here goes. AU ideas - Genderbend/Femslash OR Marine Biologists and Deep Sea Divers OR Professional Chess Players in a championship
I ended up doing all three so everything after genderbend is in the cut because it’s a v long post haha
Genderbend:
Light has long hair and it’s something she’s very proud of. L, on the other hand, hasn’t brushed her hair in 7 and 1/2 years. It shows.
Light can’t get away with having 7 boyfriends :( it’s casual when a guy does it but when a girl does it everyone notices and has something to say about it.
Light’s still sexist though, she just hates every girl that isn’t her.
L has worn a bra 1 single time, decided she fucking hated it, and never wore one again.
L and Light are 10x more gayer. I’m talking giving each other back rubs, sitting way too close, always whispering to each other, just openly blatantly gay and no one questions it because ‘girls are just like that’
but along with physical fighting comes next level backhanded compliments
@ your queue tag "aye! kya bolti queue?": kya main bolu?
ajdlfa;jdfl;jsd love that you guys actually notice my queue tag
I couldn’t find a single gif of the actual song, smh!!!!
Sonakshi Sinha is underappreciated as hell tbh. It also saddens me that I roles I have seen her play have been too similar, and she has played the blank canvas love interest too often. Can you recommend to me any films where she actually has a significant role, apart from Lootera (which I love)?
I liked Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, and @soniarose25 helped me with this and recommended Akira and Noor!
I'd love to hear your thoughts about that Sabrina show honestly. I haven't watched it yet.
The Chiling Adventures of Sabrina?
So I really like a lot of the show, the characters are really great and it’s simultaneously funny but also kind of serious? it’s got its moments of brilliant humor and stuff. And while some of it is cheesy, it’s also like, come on. It’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Idk what else you could expect from it.
There’s really only one thing I’m not a fan of? And that’s like... Satan is a Big Thing in the show? not really as a character, but as an entity and the main religion we see in the show revolves around him and so people say things like ‘praise satan’ and stuff like that and it leaves me feeling unsettled and uncomfortable but I think that’s also because I was raised in a Christian household? and while I’m not necessarily christian most of the satanic elements leave me feeling rather perturbed.
but that’s probably also just me. I’ve had some friends compare CAOS to Riverdale? In that it’s a more modern version of it’s original content, and that it’s also a more dark/dramatic take on it. But I definitely suggest checking it out, just be prepared - it’s nothing like the old sabrina show or the comics.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Stranger Things and Buzzfeed Unsolved
