A faint hiss at the sight of the rain as she stepped back into the warm room, sitting beside him with her tail curled up behind her. So much for getting back to her own room with Rangiku, but she didn’t really care much. It’s not like she was in a rush to get back any time soon anyway. Would she admit it out loud? Absolutely not, but that was for her to know and him to never find out.

Small yawn passed her lips as she brought her legs up onto the sofa and rested her head on his shoulder. Her ears twitched slightly as she watched the rain drip off the roof and land with a soft pitter onto the wood floor outside.

“I don’t know about you, but rain makes me exhausted.”

                That was Ichimaru’s spiritual pressure— for the most part. It felt like Ichimaru, but heavier, like storm clouds who were too full with rage and rain water. The figure before him reminds him of the same soul reaper, too, though his hair looks more like winding smoke than a silver stream. He is the same storm Ichimaru is. 

                “You’re not Zangetsu,” he states, an observation that doesn’t seek an answer. He felt the pull for his soul to fall through these waters when his same soul was bursting with sorrow and anger; with many other things, too. It was a strange sensation, feeling the urgency for his conscious to return to its home. Ichigo considers asking where his Zanpakuto was, but the atmosphere and the water feels too still, too calm. 

                He doesn’t draw his sword. 

                “Why are you here?” he asks— there’s no point in asking how. There was always a purpose when he was within his inner world.

“I fail to see how this is your fault,” she hummed, filling up one of the saucers, sliding it with practiced ease across the table towards the other. “You are as much a part of him as Haineko is me, but if I were to say that this doesn’t have selfish reasons, I’d be lying,” she admitted, holding up her own saucer to cheer with his. “I want to know what happened.”
