Sonic sped through the rehabilitated zone, seeking out the stray Badniks hiding there. Upon encounter, he swiftly smashed each one open with a simple Spin Attack, releasing the small animal cooped up inside. "Entrance is that way. Your buddies are waiting for you." After getting their bearings, the tiny creatures headed off in the direction Sonic pointed them. A second later, Sonic was back on his way.
Though focused on his mission, he couldn't help but marvel at the ubiquitous greenery in the old Chemical Plant. "They really fixed this place up nice. I oughta come back on a day when we're not hunting Eggman... Looks like a lot of fun!"
Meanwhile, Tails was leading Amy down an interior corridor, having located the building which formerly housed Eggman's control hub. "There's still a bunch of interfaces left behind from when he ran the place... I just need to find one that looks like it's been accessed recently... There!" Tails stopped in front of a large monitor, beneath which was an active keyboard, both lit up. Tails took out his Miles Electric and began scanning the keys, determining an access code from their use. "Once I can get past the security measures, I can start downloading any recently accessed data onto my device."
Amy tapped her hammer lightly against the floor, watching Tails working away. "This looks like it's going to take a while." Tails nodded. "Depending on the amount of data and the size of the files... Yeah." Amy looked around the room, noticing a nearby corridor leading off into a dimly lit area. Staring off down the hallway, she could hear a sound coming from the other end, a deep mechanical droning accompanied by the sound of rushing water.
"There's something going on down there, something more than just Badniks. Tails, I'll leave you to your work. I've gotta check this out."
