"Charming, as always." "Yet a Dementor would be a suitable match for one so emotionally draining."
"Is that why they always flock to you in droves?"
(from ch. 6 of Imogen Selwyn and the Death Eater's Legacy)
Aka that time Imogen unknowingly echoes something that fucking Voldemort will later say to Harry in their GoF duel:
"We bow to each other, Harry," said Voldemort, bending a little, but keeping his snakelike face upturned to Harry. "Come, the niceties must be observed... Dumbledore would like you to show manners..."
... which was even closely followed by Voldemort mocking Harry about his parents too.
Oops! :D
“I say why not cut to the chase, serve this, and make everybody visibly upset?”
The thing on 12 Grimmauld Place's ancient stove was supposed to be a stew, but Imogen had somehow managed to burn and under-cook it in different places, and it looked questionably runny for something comprised mainly of potatoes.
Imogen leveled him with a dead-eyed stare for a solid three seconds before twisting her expression into her most bitchy, insincere smile.
"I'm sorry, would you like to help Molly cook next time?" she asked pointedly, "I actually tried to warn her this would happen, but since I was the only one polite enough to show up early to the meeting, she just had to make do."
She looked down at the spoon she'd been using to stir the stewish monstrosity and chose violence. She picked the spoon up, held it in out front of her like a wand, and very deliberately flicked stew juice in Severus Snape's face.
"Oops." She smiled for real this time.
❝ when you cut loose, you really cut loose. ❞ (charlie)
The seventh years had decided to put on a rager of a Christmas party without the professors' knowledge that year, and Hurley (@squibbed) had worked his metaphorical magic to procure a truly impressive volume and variety of alcohol for the students' consumption. Imogen knocked her third firewhisky back like an oversized shot and made a noise that sounded like something halfway between a giggle and a cackle. Her eyes held a slightly manic gleam.
"Charlie," she said, swallowing around the burn left by the alcohol, "I have had a spectacularly stressful few years, and I spent the summer working at the Hog's Head, where I was legal to drink for the first time in my life, and the owner's not too concerned about doing so on the job."
She placed a hand on Charlie's shoulder and made sure he was looking her in the eyes before she continued.
"You are about to regret handing me this drink."
"first of all: no. second of all: no."
Imogen is standing in front of a full-blown conspiracy board, vibrating with two days worth of coffee and excitement. Her incomprehensible scribblings cover every inch of the parchments she has pinned haphazardly to the walls and to each other. In at least one spot, she's run out of parchment and started writing directly on the wall.
"No, hear me out! I'll only need to shut down the enchantment for ten minutes, just long enough to run a few tests, and then you'll have your music room back good as new. I'm so close to figuring out how it works, Ud, I can feel it!"
