I'm not really in the habit of listening to music while I write, but if I had to pic one for GO fic writing it would be Queen, for obvious reasons.

There have been so many good fics this year, I couldn't pick just one:

Flowers from Hell, by @entanglednow - rated T, 41,968 words - part kidfic, part getting-together, all parts adorable and wholesome

The Genesis Loop, by @improbabledreams900 - rated M (violence and temporary character death), 53,151 words - Crowley gets stuck in a time loop of the first few hours after the Beginning, and tries to put his memories back together. Intense, thoughtful, and beautiful.

Tightrope, by @sparkkeyper - rated T, 1,298 words - Okay I'm not actually sure if I read this for the first time this year, but my bookmark was dated from 2021, so I'm counting it. An exploration of Crowley's anxieties regarding his relationship with Aziraphale, full of feelings, with a very very satisfying resolution. One of my all-time favorites.

Thoughts that Breathe and Words that Burn, by @anonymousdandelion - rated G, 2,027 words - The fic that started the Penniverse! Crowley writes and publishes poems about Aziraphale. Aziraphale reads those poems. Pining and feelings all around.

Hi! I’ve been having trouble concentrating while reading, so I’m looking for fics with an engaging plot, preferably rated T or G and Ineffable Husbands, to try to get out of this kind of reading block. Thank youu 🤗🤗💜

I know that people have varying opinions on what they consider an engaging plot, so here are a few I’ve pulled out of my bookmarks, dear, and I open this to others as well to add their favorites!

Crowley never talked about his time as an angel. Aziraphale never asked. A Narrative of Certain Events following the Ending of the World (Except Not Quite), as vaguely hinted at in The Slapdash and Not Very Helpful Prophetic Tidbit of Agnes Nutter, Witch (And Matchmaker.)

I am a huge fan of anything by ImprobableDreams900. This was no exception! I love the characterization of Aziraphale and Crowley. And the well thought out information/research that goes into these fics is amazing and really helps bring the whole story together.

A Memory of Eden (M) by @improbabledreams900

Written before the TV show came out, this fic is a continuation of the book events, in which Crowley tells heaven he bewitching Aziraphale in order to protect him. The angel goes on to save him for which he falls... into human. Majority of the story is about how they both deal with implications of their choices. Very well constructed, attention to detail and immensely original plot! (Trigger warning for Alzheimer's disease and slow death). Eventual happy ending...in a weird way.

Pray for Us Icarus (G) by @brightwanderer (previously @seaskystone)

Don't read this one if angst is not your thing. It starts with Aziraphale coming into Anthony's flowershop and the latter not remembering him. From there on you're thrown into a memory lane where Aziraphale recounts their meetings throughout the ages and how each of them ended. Very original backgrounds, including peasant Crowley with a garden, inventor Crowley in 16th century Denmark and . But the real question is what has made Crowley reincarnate over and over in a human form? Eventual happy ending.

Lovely one shot for those who can hold their angst. Another memory loss fic in which Crowley arrives at the bookshop to see Aziraphale already in the process of forgetting him. Emotionally charged and very well written. Open/sad ending.

God shaping Phanuel from In the Beginning (part 7 of Eden!verse) by @improbabledreams900

Just sort of happen that after reading that part of Book II (Inheritance of Eden) I needed to sketch this. Not my finest work, not at all but it was fun to do;-)

It´s sort of spoiler but if you haven´t read it you will forget it quickly and if you  have you´ll know what does it mean...

And if you haven´t read it yet just DO SO! Many sleepless nigts but it was worth it! It´s just so beautiful.

“ Crowley walked across the Earth for a long time, and at length he saw a figure picking its way across a field, the wind swirling the long grasses into unknowable patterns. As Crowley neared, he was surprised to see that he recognised the figure—it was the angel he’d spoken to briefly in Eden, the one who had guarded the Eastern Gate.  [...] He approached the angel with a tentative smile. It took the angel a moment to see Crowley, focussed as he was on minding where he was putting his bare feet, and another moment to recognise the figure of Crowley approaching him. He scowled.  “What do you want, serpent?” [...] “We met in the Garden. I’m Crowley.” “I don’t care,” the angel said coldly, and Crowley felt his smile begin to fade. [...] “There’s mud absolutely everywhere,” the angel continued, lifting a foot in disgust, “and it’s cold and it keeps raining, so thanks for that, demon.”
