Anastasius Nulesmurt - 24, Soviet Russian Sergeant, ethnic Udmurt, grew up as a shepherd boy on a collective farm in Kama-Vatkya.

Yakov Rimsky Ovechkin- 21, A private, nicknamed "Ovechka'', meaning Lamb, by his regiment. The son of Aristocrats from Petrograd/Leningrad, he spent his entire life in a gulag until being conscripted into the army.

Lieutenant Volkov - 28, a political officer and Bolshevik intellectual who graduated from Moscow State University. Likely indoctrinated by politically active parents.
