Scorpio Nakshatras Deities: Jyeshtha, Anuradha, Vishakha
Disclaimer: unlike the ☀️ solar signs, the 🌙 lunar signs, aka, the nakshatras, are not ruled by planets. They are ruled by deities. The planets you will find regarding the nakshatras are only associated to them. Planets do not rule the nakshatras. As some nakshatras overlap two signs, you will see this nakshatra and the same deity in both of these signs.
Jyeshtha – Indra, King of the Heavens ⚡🐘 Indra seized the throne of the heavens from the immensely powerful Varuna (see Aquarius Deities: Shatabhisha) through cunning strategy and the sacred Soma. Indra deeply loves Soma, the immortal nectar that grants him strength and vitality. “Indra” is not only a name but a title meaning king, and he fully embodies it. In the Rig Veda, Indra stands above all as a heroic figure: a protector of humanity and a tamer of the wild forces of nature. Over time, however, later myths portray him with many flaws—pride, disrespect, deception—which often lead to conflict and even war. Still, allied with groups of gods and aided by Vishnu, he overcomes formidable enemies such as Vrtrasura (Chitra), wielding his iconic weapon, the vajra, the thunderbolt. Indra rides the majestic three-headed elephant Airavata, a symbol of royal power and divine authority 🌩️🐘

Anuradha – Mitra, God of Daylight and Friendship ☀️🤝 Mitra is a Vedic god of light, harmony, and social bonds. He presides over alliances, solidarity, and friendship, and is always paired with Varuna, his nocturnal counterpart (see Aquarius Deities: Shatabhisha). In the Rig Veda, Mitra is portrayed as a radiant and noble hero who abhors violence. He carries a sword and rides a horse, embodying justice tempered by compassion 🗡️🐎 His worship extended far beyond India: westward to Persia, where he became a judge within a divine triad, and eventually to Rome, where the cult of Mithras emerged as a secretive, oath-bound tradition, especially among soldiers. Mitra thus bridges cultures, faiths, and people—true to his essence 💫

Vishakha – Indragni, the United Fire 🔥⚡ Indragni represents the combined forces of Indra and Agni, two powerful and passionate gods. Indra, king of the gods and ruler of Jyeshtha, is a heroic yet vulnerable figure—ambitious, strategic, and constantly striving to protect his sovereignty. Agni, ruler of Krittika, is the god of fire. With his seven tongues, he can consume everything in his path, yet above all, he is the divine messenger—the sacred bridge between mortals and the gods 🔥🌈 Both deities share immense appetite, desire, and intensity, which can sometimes lead to excess or mistakes. Yet this very fusion makes Vishakha a nakshatra of drive, determination, and transformative power.
