Salam!

I am trying to do my best in Nephrology because this field is so interesting and it controls many functions of the body. And it is so amusing!

I still have to take a look on infectiology but my lazy brain just can't remember all those antibiotics.

I hope that I'll do better in the next days.

Mmm multiresistant tuberculosis yum, I think I would go totally crazy if I was working there I’d be so scared to catch everything! PS : dunno what the tzatziki guy says but the traditionnal tzatziki has no mint/cumin/honey (crazy cook here :p)

Hahaha yeah infectiology is a bit scary at first, but then you realize that, come on, except if

you're immunodeficient and lick the Candida from balanitis guy,

or inhale the same air as a hyper-contagious patient with tuberculosis without wearing the FFP2 mask and without being vaccinated,

well, you're reasonably going to remain as healthy as an immunocompetent med student can be :)

Of course, you've got to keep your vaccines up to date, and respect some simple hygiene rules (such as washing your hands and your stethoscope, using hand sanitizer, and protections for multiresistant bacteria infected patients).

BUT YOU ALREADY KNOW ALL OF THE ABOVE BUT I JUST WANTED TO BRAG AROUND WITH MY MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE AND I DON'T KNOW WHY I AM YELLING ON YOUR DASH GUYSSSS

About the ΤΖΑΤΖΙΚΙ (it's written in Greek but you don't see it hihihi), I actually didn't really know what it 'normally' contained, but I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the honey..!

CONCLUSION: that was a post. No I'm not even drunk. I was just very inspired today.

PS: my patient with multiresistant tuberculosis was never contagious, it was more of pleural abscesses... and we used FFP2 masks during a whole month so I think there was no risk!

What did I learn today? During my morning round in Infectiology?

I learnt that the capital of Chechnya, or Chechen Republic, is Grozny. (because one of my patient is a young Chechen with multiresistant tuberculosis) I also taught a nurse that the capital of Morocco is certainly not Marrakesh, but Rabat. Too much tuberculosis!

I've been in Infectiology for almost a month now, and I take care of 5 patients (well I follow the morning round and write in the files...). 3 of them have tuberculosis, and 1 may have it too in his liver. Guess I'm going to know it by heart?

Yay the director of the Infectious Disease department just allowed me to do an internship in his department this summer!

That’s just what I wanted, because as I’m doing my year again I do only 2 internships, of 2 months each, instead of 6 (that is all year long).

So this way I’ll get to be in the hospital more time than I’d normally have!

Plus, I’ll be studying Infectiology next year, so I’ll start learning in the hospital this summer before the beginning of the actual academic year!
