"Trust me, Lolita, your form is definitely getting better!" Val called to one of her students as they were making their way out of the rec center. Letting out a happy sigh, Val turned around to lock up her classroom. Once she'd finished, she turned around again and bumped straight into someone. "Ay dios mío! I'm sorry!" she apologized immediately, bending down to pick up her gym bag which had slipped off her shoulder in the impact before finally getting a good look at just who she had bumped into. "Feli." she breathed upon realizing it was her cousin. "I really am sorry, I just didn't hear you approaching." she explained, reaching up to point at her cochlear implant. As she looked at the younger woman, Val couldn't help but chew on her bottom lip. Things between her and her extended family had been somewhat tense since she had moved to Briar Ridge. There was some sort of drama between Val's mother and her brother, Feli's father, that made everything a little uncomfortable. But Val wanted so badly to have a real relationship with her cousin. After a moment or two, the brunette realized she had probably been staring at the younger woman a little bit longer than necessary and cleared her throat before asking. "How have you been?"
