Regulus loved London at night time.
There was something in the way the city stayed alive long after its inhabitants had made their way to bed that took a fraction of the weight he carried from his shoulders. The energy of it all kept a smile tugging at his lips, which is why he had opted to walk from St. Mungo’s back to his flat in Diagon Alley, despite the dangers thay could potentially be lurking in the dark. The wizarding world wasn’t safe these days, and the muggle world had always felt a bit dangerous to Regulus, but the stroll down the city streets always seemed the best way to quiet Regulus’s busy mind. It was late-a side effect of working the shifts he and all other new healers seemed to be assigned in the early stages of their careers-and he hadn’t expected to stumble across anyone on his walk home, least of all someone he knew. He reached to carefully steady the girl after they had almost colliding, taking a moment to study her familiar features. “Are you alright?” he asked, concerning lacing his words.
