Wait, is the second fic basically a second idea you had with Nexus in lalt but couldn't add it cause you had something better in mind that would make more sense with the lore?

Because that's kinda what I do with my fics. One usually ends up with four different paths from a certain moment because I also liked the way it would go😭

Yessss that is pretty much what is happening :3c a million branches, a million possibilities!

We sorta thought of IO like another path - that if Sun and Nexus got to talk it out before the nsp went too far, before the villain arc really kicked off into full swing, would Nexus ever hear Sun out? What would that look like? How would Sun coax Nexus - stubborn impossible being that he is during his villain arc - back to the house? How would everybody (including him) take to him staying? It wouldn’t be easy, sure, but the idea of it being “completely impossible” defeats the purpose of the multiverse for us. And so we ran with it! And now we have IO where Sun is taking baby steps to try to rehabilitate his wet cat of a brother.

LaLT is gonna take the scenic route like it was always planned to - awkward reluctant villain bonding, the negative star power is gonna go a whole different way, and the family are going to keep bumping into each other whether they like it or not (and even then it won’t always be for strictly good or bad reasons). IO meanwhile basically diverges from lore entirely at this point to drop these silly creatures on an island and let them figure their stuff out slowly and awkwardly. Just with the same leading path up until the end of chapter 11 of lalt. :>

Is IO au gonna have Solar in it? Like, him coming back?

Also, will Nexus get to talk with other family members?

Honestly, if he does, I don't want him to really get along with everyone, that would be more real. For example, with Earth/Terra because she really hurt him and let him down and I don't blame Nexus for hating her. I can't really wonder much with Lunar and I'm kinda sad about it (I wish the show had them bond a bit more before Nexus was a thing). I'm really interested in that because your AUs are really well written and what's more important, you feed Nexus fans who were all let down by the show

Firstly, in regards to Solar… you’ll have to wait and see, I’m afraid!

As for the rest of the family, yes, he will be talking with them in future chapters. It’s going to be a bumpy road and it’s not straightforward for him or them, but no one’s ready for that yet. Complicated feelings all around and they’ll cross those bridges when they’re ready (we have big plans!), but don’t worry, our boy is being handled with all the love and care in the world 💖
