Had such a lovely walk today. I didn't go as far as I'd planned as I'm going to build up gradually since my legs are weak from inaction. There were many things to look at & it was great breathing in the fresh air of the countryside. Yellow clover flowers dotted the green fields, almond trees were in blossom & I came across a mama sheep with 2 babies that wanted to follow me gambolling wildly. In the old days I would've strode through the fields & along the footpaths, but nowadays I keep to the road when I'm alone. It's safer until my knees & ankles get stronger. Anyway there were very few cars on the road. The people I met greeted me with smiles & a few words - everybody seemed happy to feel spring was on its way. There were some buzzards (? birds of prey anyway) flying overhead & even when they disappeared I could hear their high-pitched cries. I even saw a snake basking in the sun at the side of the road (no, I didn't take a pic). Some wild herbs were growing on the slopes, but I don't think the oregano is ready yet. I didn't walk far enough to check. Back home now sipping a spicy apple & carrot juice. Will go out later to do some shopping & maybe drop into Lord Byron for a drink #Feb2017 #lambisstory #ios_island #cyclades #greece #mylifeonios #iosisland2017 #ioscountryside #winterinios2017 #springisintheair (at Ios Greece Island)
