Congrats to our friends from Anime and Manga Society on an amazing Akumakon last weekend! To help everyone through the post-con blues we’re excited to announce another of our very special guests for Potterfest 2016…

Improv comedian, actor, freestyle rapper and expert on all-things-Potter, Will Naameh.

Will runs The Potter Trail , the only Hary Potter tour in Edinburgh – the city where JK Rowling was inspired to write the early books.

Member of the critically acclaimed improv group “Men With Coconuts”, Will has performed at sold out shows in festivals around Europe and the US. He also does an awesome impression of Severus Snape and it’s his dream to bust a rhyme on stage with the Starkids during Goin’ Back to Hogwarts.

Over the weekend, he’ll be taking part in panels, sharing lots of stories about the people and places behind our favourite series, and might even fit in some Potter rap…

We can’t wait to welcome him to Galway!

The next Irish con I’v lined up is Arcadecon in Dublin July 10th-13th cause I would not miss out on a chance to see Pen Ward.ERMEHGERD!!

I’ll be bringing the revamped Simon Petrikov cosplay…. and I’ll see what others later XD Maybe Azazel cause I need more photos of him

Then after that I think its Dublin Comic Con in August which I have some rather big costumes to reveal should I have the time to complete them in between work.

That’s all the Irish cons I have planned atm to go to, might be more if I have time and money.

FIRST POTTERFEST ANNOUNCEMENT FOR POTTERFEST 2015!!!  Wow that is a lot of caps! Hello again and it is finally that time when we make our first announcement. We are shaking things up next year and I am happy to announce that on the Saturday evening of the Convention there will be a YULE BALL in the same building as the convention.  The Ball is either optional to be in formal wear or in cosplay (dressed up like a character from the books/movies or be in an outfit inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter). You will NOT have to pay extra to get into the ball. Any other questions just ask. - Niamh Con- Director

For those of you who are in Ireland and have yet to here, University College Cork is hosting their very own anime convention from the 28th to the 30th of March.

Weekend tickets are €25 and fuck are they worth it!

Also, our guests are Jonny Yong Bosch (Ichigo Kurosaki, Black Power Ranger, Lelouch Lamperouge) and J. Michael Tatum (Sebastian Michaelis, Isaac Dian, France, Erwin Smith, Kyoya Ootori). No big deal or anything, but they're gonna be there ;)
