Looking through my archives I came across this unique photo where I believe these lights might be what is known as STEVE, or Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement. This display of light presents itself as a purple/pink and green ribbon in the night sky, rather than waves of green ribbons like an aurora borealis. This particular showing crosses the milky way in the night sky of the Yukon, which is another bonus on its own! . Until this moment I had never seen STEVE before even though I have heard so much about it, so knowing that I had now seen it, is pretty exciting for me. . Have you seen STEVE? .
