Made up fic title: Parisian Gift Horse -or- Rereading the Iliad

I would totally have to make Parisian Gift Horse a Rory/Paris/Jess fic.

Paris is always with them. Is she with them? Nobody knows, but they know better than to ask.

Jess probably says something Paris thinks is inane about ‘gift horses’ (also/or maybe he’s being stubborn about something) and this leads, somehow, to Paris buying Jess a horse. Rory spends this course of events refusing all involvement and determinedly staying out of it.

In the end, it accomplishes what Paris intended it to, and she magnanimously doesn’t say “I told you so,” until 5 or 10 years later.

Actually came up with 3/4 of your mom's theory...I don't buy it, but I thought of it...and was onboard with it for...about 30 seconds.

Right? I mean, for them to make it work logistically they’d have to do a LOT of finagling and it wouldn’t be remotely realistic. And how in the hell wouldn’t they recognize one another? If Jess knew it was Rory from the beginning, then them having a one night stand like that would feel weird and wrong. Or, they could skew it so that Rory knew it was Jess underneath the costume all along but then she “freaked out” after they hooked up and came ranting back to Lorelai. Trying to run from their connection. I feel like she spent the whole revival running from her inner demons.

In another sense, isn’t it goddamn hilarious to imagine Jess Mariano dressed as a Wookie? haha.
