Jester Lavorre you will always be famous
The thing is, your story that you poured out to me and Beau, the other day—it was very sad, and I'm so sorry that you had to go through it, but I have to say, in a way, I'm a little bit jealous. [...] All I'm saying is, I feel like you can get revenge. You can maybe even get redemption for what you've done, and you can become a better person. You can do good to counteract the bad that you've done in your past, and maybe someday there will be an end to your suffering. —Nott the Brave to Caleb Widogast, Episode 20, Labenda Awaits
oh hey, it's isharnai
ok but it actually surprised me just how well matt made the isharnai plot work with the wedding?? of Course she would barge in and attack on their wedding day, she is a thief of joy. her whole thing is to steal as much happiness as she can, and when could a person be happier than on their wedding day?
of Course she would try to kidnap jester, she is not only mad about being bested by a cupcake. jester made her feel like they had such a good time she agreed to lift a curse. she's mad it wasn't real. jester can make friends with Anyone, devious hags included, but making friends with devious hags presents a whole new issue - having a devious hag Want to be your friend. a hag who has No healthy relationships with anyone and possibly never has had one either.
matt created a perfect metaphor for a toxic and controlling relationship. if an abusive person can cut you off from your other friends, your support network, they can eventually have you all to themselves. literally removing jester's friends and family from her memory is a crystal clear and terrifying magical version of that.
Jester & the Hag 🧁✨
did this for one of my illustration class :) the assignment was to create a narrative illustration of any story of our choosing, so of course I had to go with my all time favorite moment from campaign 2. also fun fact, this piece literally destroyed my old ipad and I had to finally get a new one.... there is still more work I wanna do on this ngl, and I especially want to play around with the background some before I call it super finished and get prints made, but I've already spent 30+ hours on this over the past few days, so I'm taking a well deserved break from it for now :]
Sometimes shitty ink on high quality paper is something that can actually be so personal 🔥🫐
Do not repost.
I know the most obvious thing to happen antagonistically at Fjord and Jester's wedding is Isharnai showing up (Or Avantika) but what if that's TOO obvious. Here me out, what if Fjord's bio parents show up?! He's famous-ish, wealthy and powerful now. What if they crawl out of the woodwork and show up at the wedding? Imagine the stress of ON YOUR WEDDING DAY trying to figure out if your bio parents are there for nefarious reasons after all these years, or if maybe you were separated by circumstances out of their control and the spectacle of your wedding was big enough that they could finally find you.
Neither Fjord nor Travis know anything about his parents or why he ended up in the orphanage. It was never really touched on in the campaign other than him saying that the orphanage was bad. We have NO IDEA who his parents are or what their reasons were.
(Besides, Avantika or Isharnai could always attack them halfway through even if his parents do show up. Depending on how it goes, Fjord might consider that a relief lol).
I was just letting fireside autoplay and it landed on Matt talking about the original Isharnai battle that got waylaid by Jester's cupcake shenanigans
Matt got to use the enslaved coven mechanic at the wedding! It's so perfect!
I'm imagining Matt's upping the difficulty on the encounter as Isharnai doing multiple training montages and like using her basket buddies as weights and shit because the party kept getting more and more powerful while she was waiting for her perfect moment
