I have NO qualms about blocking people who spam me with replies about how Manson is guilty and I’m an abuse apologist. I find it really irritating, however, that people are willing to assume I am blocking them simply because I “don’t want to accept the truth”. And that I’m not willing to consider this from another angle.
The fact of the matter is I HAVE considered this from another angle. Years ago now, before all the allegations even went public, I first heard Evan’s testimony, assumed it was Manson and was disgusted. For a time I stopped supporting him completely, because as someone who has been through s*xual abuse and seen others close to me go through the same thing, I was horrified and revolted.
But then I looked into the situation deeper, as many people are doing so now, and spotted the inconsistencies, flaws and suspicious elements. And now that she has actually named him, it just becomes even clearer; more people are saying, the more holes and flaws in their testimonies are becoming apparent, along with their motives. That people would use the subject of abuse for personal gain is disgusting, but it has happened countless times before. I am not the kind of person who dismisses victims as being “attention seeking,” or whatnot; the only reason I have, and will ever have, for thinking someone is lying about such a serious situation is if it is genuinely apparent that they are.
Look, I also understand why people are denouncing Manson even if they once loved him. I will never tell people that they are wrong because if the allegations are true then he is a true monster. And I absolutely respect that people can no longer stand him.
But I wholeheartedly don’t believe the allegations, not simply out of a desperation not to lose a hero, but because I have spent hours going over facts, old interviews, behavioural patterns of the people in this situation, etc. I have looked at it from the other angle and felt the opposite in the past. So when people make the assumption that I, and other remaining Manson fans, are being wilfully ignorant and dismissing even the possibility that he’s guilty, it’s not just irritating but untrue.
What a fine night
and Marilyn Manson is innocent
#istandwithmanson and I am proud. Proud to openly support such a talented, misunderstood, intelligent man who for DECADES has been used as a scapegoat for society’s current fears. He overcame the unjust blame for Columbine. He has had to deal with absurd rumours of violence and depravity back since the beginning of his career. And he still manages to persevere, make the most incredible music and reach so many. @marilynmanson We stand with you.

just because i don’t have time anymore for my blog doesn’t mean that i don’t have an opinion...
